AE works with 20 of the most charismatic students from year 10 or 12 (aged 14/15) - they are the natural leaders, whose influence on their peers may currently either be positive or negative. AE works with 10 who are doing well in their studies and 10 who are often on the path to exclusion.

The one unifying characteristic is that they are the kind of people who have natural influence over their peers. Focussing efforts on these young people will have the greatest influence over the school community in the most efficient way, thereby creating the maximum change in the most effective way.
